Our Purpose
The Werthing Foundation’s purpose is to enhance and engage young people through a pro-active life skills approach. By teaching them how to be productive in life, the foundation initiates their greater potential for personal and professional achievement.
When rising leaders are empowered, confident and self-sufficient, they become high achievers and positively impact the lives of everyone in their family and community. The Werthing Foundation provides leadership and development training programs to become effective and powerful leaders.
Werthing Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonproft organization, focused on delivering effective programs and services to women and girls for the next level of leadership since 2009. Since 2010, Werthing Foundation has partnered with over 30 major corporations and community leaders.

Gloria Werthing Reynolds
Co-founder & President
Gloria Werthing Reynolds is a Non-profit Executive, Strategic Consultant, Entrepreneur with a passion for Mentoring and Connecting. Gloria is a strategic thinker, highly focused and self motivated individual with over three decades of combined experience in corporate and non-profit sectors. She is a proven leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to develop key stake-holder relationships.
Gloria’s senior leadership roles in corporate have included Electronic Data Systems, Cigna, Aetna and UFPC-Pizza Hut. Additionally, senior leadership experience in nonprofit have included education school systems, Girl Scouts, INROADS, Korn Ferry and currently The Werthing Foundation as CEO & Co-Founder. Senior leadership responsibilities have included business and leadership development, training programs, and coaching across the continuum i.e., high school, college and career professionals. As the founder of Light Up the World Mentoring & Scholarship program, through mentoring Gloria impacts generations of young people, women & girls of color on their journeys as confident leaders and maintaining self-sufficient lives. Her drive is to close the gaps of connecting education to careers, equity and access for all as well as making a social impact, improving economic progress and breaking glass ceilings.
As a non-profit executive, Gloria is responsible for strategic consulting, business and staff development, financial performance, and the successful development and execution of Werthing’s signature programs, i.e., Light Up the World Mentoring & Scholarship Program, Career Pathways to Success, Leaders on the Move Girls’ Day, Girl Power Academy, and Werthing L.E.A.D. As a thought leader, Gloria develops organizational pipelines of diverse talent for participants to become effective and powerful leaders. In all, Gloria helps participants attain self-confidence as an intentional outcome and developing future leaders through skills driven workshops. As an Executive Directive, Gloria manages writing, receiving and executing of multiyear grants with excellent outcome and renewable opportunities.
As a civic and community leader Gloria serves on multi-year appointments in board leadership roles with The Texas Diversity Council and Dallas Independent School Racial Equity task force. Gloria also served as past President of a Jack & Jill Chapter held serval other leadership roles, United Methodist Women Unit President and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., where she serves on a national committee, Black Mothers of Suburbia and a philanthropist through The Village Giving Circle.
Gloria is graduate of Tennessee State University with a Bachelors in Business Management and a graduate of University of Dallas where she earned her MBA. She is married to Officer Willie Reynolds and they have a son Austin and daughter Alexandria. The Reynolds family are members of St. Luke “Community” United Methodist Church, believes God and family first.
