Reflections on Gabrielle’s Love, Life and Light
Gabrielle Lamiah Reynolds: November 22, 1989 – February 12, 2020
A beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, Gabrielle Lamiah Reynolds left this world unexpectedly, on February 12, 2020. Although we lost her here on earth, we take great comfort in knowing that heaven now has a beautiful new angel.
She was born in Dallas, Texas, on November 22, 1989, to her loving parents, Mr. Willie James and Mrs. Gloria Werthing Reynolds. Gabrielle had a funny, outgoing and vivacious personality with an introspective, compassionate and caring spirit. She was fiercely loyal to her friends and family, and cherished them immensely. We will always remember her infectious smile, deep brown eyes, quick wit and loving personality.
Having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ was at the center of Gabrielle’s spiritual life. She grew up in St. Luke “Community” United Methodist Church and served as an active Youth Group Usher and member of the Angel and Youth Choirs.
During her early childhood and teen years, Gabrielle held various leadership positions in youth organizations including Girl Scouts and Jack and Jill of America, Inc. She was an award-winning basketball player and a competitive volleyball player.
Gabrielle adored art and fashion and enjoyed dancing and listening to music. She also enjoyed traveling, writing, photography, and just spending quality time with people she loved. She was a sports enthusiast.
After graduating from Skyline High School, Gabrielle took her passion for learning and love for competitive sports onward to college. She attended her parents’ alma mater, Tennessee State University (TSU). While at TSU, she served as the athletic trainer for the TSU Tigers Football Team.
During her brief professional career, Gabrielle held marketing and program management roles in corporate, non-profit and collegiate sectors. Most recently, she served as a successful Marketing and Events Director for CURLS, LLC.
Gabrielle is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Mr. Frank and Mrs. Louise Reynolds. She is survived by her parents, Mr. Willie and Mrs. Gloria Werthing Reynolds; brother, Austin; sister, Alexandria; grandparents, Mr. John, Sr. and Mrs. Sallie Werthing; special cousins, Sherea and Maria; aunts, Mavis, Barbara, Lynn, Tammy and Paula; uncles, John, Jr., Glenn, and Frank; godfather, Maxie; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends. Though Gabrielle’s life was short, her impact will be forever felt in all who knew her smile and joy.
